What is a Home Inspection and what does it cover?
Home inspections are critical in the home buying process. They are not mandatory as part of the transaction, but extremely beneficial. The right to purchase a home subject to a professional inspection should be in every buyers purchase contract. A professional inspection will help you uncover major and minor repairs that may need to be completed before the conclusion of a successful transaction. Some repairs may be warranted by the seller in the real estate purchase contract and some are not. In other words, the seller may be obligated to fix certain things, but not necessarily everything. As a buyer you retain the right to withdraw your offer to purchase based upon the results of the inspection, and/or the repairs negotiated with the seller.
